Broiler Cage Systems Broiler multi tier colony system. A positive alternative to Floor managent. Each individual cage has dimensions of 2,96 meter x 1,880 meter and is equipped with: One pan feeding line with 2 feed pans per cage. Two nipple drinking lines with 6 nipples each Two lights per each cage unit. Eight individual floor units which can be removed. The battery can consist of 2, 3, 4 or even more tiers. So far most broilers in the world are raised on the floor. For many years there have been trails and tests for raising broiler cages in, but so far thare are only few broiler operations using those systems. The main reason why cages were not so successful so far are: Damage of the carcasses during the fattening period because of breast blisters and feather follicles. Damage to the birds wings and legs during catching from the cages. Technical imperfection of cages. High invesment costs in a broiler cage operation. Advantage of broiler cages however can result in easier and better management and consequently higher profits for growers, because of: No need for floor litter. Broiler growing rate. Better feed conversion. Shorter growing period. With a group of experienced people we have developed a new broiler cage system during the last years. Because of European regulations this system might not be suitable for the international European market, but will be welcomed in Eastern Europe, Middle East, Far East and other parts of the world. The new cage has been tested extenively and the field results are fantastic.
